Beginning in April, Visiting Teaching Messages will focus on ministering as the Savior did.

While Visiting Teaching Messages have always focused on the teachings of the Savior Jesus Christ, beginning in April they will begin to teach about ministering as He would. April’s message, “Love, Watch Over, and Strengthen,” is the first such message to teach these principles.
Visiting teaching can help all sisters follow a higher path of discipleship, said the Relief Society general presidency. They hope that visiting teachers will discuss these responsibilities with sisters they watch over or teach principles that will help sisters increase their faith, strengthen families, and give service.
Several resources have been provided to help familiarize Relief Society leaders and sisters with the current guidelines for visiting teaching.

Elder Harold G. Hillam, an emeritus General Authority and a former member of the Presidency of the Seventy, died March 27, 2012, at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was 77.

President Ezra Taft Benson called Elder Hillam to the Second Quorum of the Seventy on March 31, 1990. He was sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy a year later and also served in the Presidency of the Seventy from Aug. 15, 1995, to Aug. 15, 2000.
A short time after being named emeritus General Authority on Oct. 1, 2005, he was called to be the president of the Boise Idaho Temple. Sister Hillam was once again his companion, serving as the temple matron. He would preside at the temple for three years.
Throughout their marriage, the Hillams demonstrated their commitment to serving the Lord and members of the Church across the globe.
“There is never a compromise with the gospel and gospel principles,” Elder Hillam declared in 1990. “Whatever the Lord asks, we will do.”
Funeral services are pending.

That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do—not that the nature of the thing has changed, but that our power to do has increased.”

..." we can accept the Lord's Ill , but we will keep praying for miracles."...

Elder Britten Schenk, a  missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was hit by a bus while serving in Sao Paulo, Brazil.(São Paulo East Mission - mission  that covers  the area where my house/Stake are in São Paulo).
I have been received  many information from latter-day friends and outside Church as well, sharing their love  for the family and appreciation to the Church's care in this matter.
Elder Schenk's family started a blog and has been updating Elder Schenk's status, their parent's travels during their ordeal. and to update friends and relatives.
We all know that  Heavenly Father has a Plan for us.
As Elder Schenk's mom said: "..." we can accept the Lord'Is Ill , but we will keep praying for miracles..." we are adding our prayers to hers and her family!

Daily Quote March 16, 2012

"How can we make the most of Temple attendance?... Set specific goals, considering your circumstances, of when you can and will participate in temple ordinances. Then do not allow anything to interfere with that plan. This pattern will guarantee that those who live in the shadow of a temple will be as blessed as are those who plan far ahead and make a long trip to the temple"
Elder Richard G. Scott

Members Invited to Participate in April 2012 General Conference

Members and others around the world are invited to participate in the 182nd Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to be held on March 31 and April 1, 2012.
Members can participate by attending or watching general conference. In addition, this conference, Church leaders are encouraging new ways of participating through the newly created “Invite Others” section of gc.lds.org.
Members can use the resources under “Invite Others”—social media channels, ready-made widgets, and artful banners—to encourage friends and family to be involved in conference, as well.
A short, shareable video on the page explains what general conference and prophets are and how individuals can watch or listen online or at local meetinghouses.
The four general sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. mountain daylight time. The priesthood session will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 6:00 p.m. mountain daylight time.

Young Church Service Missionaries: Elder Wyatt

Feasting Upon the Elder L. Tom Perry's Words

In a week-long series of meetings in California, Elder L. Tom Perry met each day with the missionaries for a few hours and then with the Priesthood leadership of multiple stakes. As an Apostle’s witness of the Savior, in his conclusion testimony in one of the meetings, he said: "The Savior directs this church from above.....There is only one man who receives revelation for all...“This is how he continues to reach out to each of us. There is an order and a system in place. Twelve are given the keys but only one may use them at a time. In the church there is order and uniformity. This provides absolute certain direction that comes from the Lord. I know without any doubt God lives and that the Savior directs this church.”
