Relief Society/Mother Education - Lessons handout (Chapter 1)

From leaders of Relief Society, "Mother Education / Educação Materna / Educación Materna" is an optional addition to Relief Society meetings, classes and visiting teaching. It says:

“The word motherhood defines women’s eternal roles; it describes their nature as nurturers” (Daughters in My Kingdom [2011], 156). The lessons below teach timeless principles that will help strengthen women in their responsibilities with families at home.
The lessons can also be used:
  •  For Sunday Relief Society meetings.
  •  For teaching sisters at additional Relief Society meetings.
  • In visiting teaching."
According to this, I will share with you some cards with the main scripture of each lesson.(English, Portuguese and Spanish)

Elder Max Caldwell of the Seventy passes away

Elder C. Max Caldwell, a former member of the Seventy, passed
away at his home in Lehi, Utah, on June 19 at the age of 78.
Known as a man who lived by his motto, "True at all times," Elder Caldwell spent his life serving in different callings and capacities in the Church.
He was called to serve in the Second Quorum of the Seventy in 1992, and fulfilled various assignments until his release in 1997. Some of those assignments included serving in area presidencies in the North America West, Philippines/Micronesia and Europe areas of the Church. He also served as assistant executive director of the Family History and Audiovisual
In a Church News interview just after he was called to the Seventy, Elder Caldwell said, "I knew if we [famiy and missionaries] were true at all times, like the stripling warriors in Alma 53:20, then Doctrine and Covenants 59:23 would result — to have peace in this world and eternal life in the world to come. The thing that thrills me in Section 59 is that we can enjoy the fruits of becoming true and faithful here as well as hereafter."
A funeral is scheduled for Monday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lehi North Stake center, 650 East 3100 North, Lehi, Utah.
A public viewing will be held Sunday evening, June 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State Street, Orem, and Monday morning from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the stake center prior to the funeral services.

Father's Day - June 17th - Last minute ideas & suggestions

Many people of the United States and Canada celebrate Fathers Day as a day to express gratitude and appreciation to their fathers by giving them presents or greeting cards. Father's Day comes on the third Sunday in June.
Father's Day was started in 1910 by Mrs. John Dodd of Spokane, Washington. The custom spread throughout the United States and in 1936 a national Father's Day committee was formed. Headquartered in New York City, the committee annually selects a Father of the Year. Some of the fathers who have won this title are Douglas MacArthur, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Harry S. Truman.

The main fuselage is made from one box and tail wing etc made from other bits and pieces.
First open one end of box, which will be the bottom, then tape the edges together.
The other end of the box which is on top and closed will be cut into the shape of the wings, one for each side (tape them on).
Cut out a round circle for the front and long strip to match, which you tape onto the circle and fuselage.
Make the propeller and glue or connect in one way or the other.
Cut out a tail piece and slide into a small opening in back of box (a tight squeeze is good) then tape. Add horizontal flap on back tail.

Daily Quote June 15, 2012

“The world will teach our children if we do not, and children are capable of learning all the world will teach them at a very young age. What we want them to know five years from now needs to be part of our conversation with them today. Teach them in every circumstance; let every dilemma, every consequence, every trial that they may face provide an opportunity to teach them how to hold on to gospel truths.”
(Rosemary M. Wixom, “Stay on the Path,” October 2010 general conference)
