New requirements for seminary graduation are meant to “elevate learning” and better prepare students for lives of service and discipleship. The changes are being implemented throughout the world beginning this school year with this year’s course of study—Doctrine and Covenants and Church history.

LDS Church leaders may now begin to deliver their general conference talks in their native languages. Until now, conference talks have been in English only. English subtitles will be displayed on screens in the Conference Center and broadcasts.

Audition for "Singing with Angels"
Auditions for Singing with Angels will begin with video auditions, which can be submitted starting today. See how to audition here! Video auditions must be submitted by Sept. 18.
In July this year, Candlelight Media in conjunction with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir announced their collaboration on Singing with Angels. The movie is a fictional story of one woman’s journey to join the Choir.
Brian Brough, director and producer, said the response toSinging with Angels has been one of far-spread excitement. “We’ve received lots of emails and photos from people wanting to be involved. We want to see them audition,” Brough said. “In order to see everyone, we thought it best to start with video auditions.” Read More

Elder David E. Sorensen, who served as a general authority of the LDS Church for 13 years, died Tuesday at 81. He served in the Presidency of the Seventy and with the temple department during its "most committed era of temple building."

The Music and Cultural Arts Division of the Church invites adults and families (with children ages 8 and older) to participate in the 2014 production of Savior of the World: His Birth and Resurrection. Members of the Church are encouraged to invite their friends or family of other Christian faiths to audition with them. We invite individuals from all ethnicities to audition.
