Too Many Ties? Look what you can do with!

This is a good idea for you to do, with the ties from mission time of your returned missionary and keep him warmy-closer with his "best two years"

SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were hospitalized following an auto-pedestrian accident Wednesday, December 23rd at Salt Lake City International Airport, police said.
Two women and a juvenile girl were crossing a passenger pickup lane when they were hit by a vehicle around 6 p.m., Airport Police Sgt. Geno Garcia said.
The girl and one of the women were taken to Intermountain Medical Center. Their condition and the nature of their injuries wasn't immediately released.
"It appears to just be a very, very bad accident," Garcia said.
The passenger pickup lane was shut down while the Utah Highway Patrol helped airport authorities investigate the crash, according to Garcia.
The driver of the vehicle was reportedly cooperative with police. The cause of the crash wasn't immediately known.
The pedestrians, who had just arrived at the airport, were in a crosswalk at the time of the accident, Garcia said.
Most motorists at the airport are good about obeying the 10 mph speed limit, he said, but pedestrians should remain alert.
"Pay attention to the rules of the road. … Take the extra time and be cautious," Garcia said.

Utahns should expect busy roads, winter weather for Thanksgiving

ByDeseret News

Travel experts are predicting the busiest Thanksgiving for travelers in eight years. Weather forecasters are predicting a winter storm on the busiest travel day of the year.

KSL meteorologists are forecasting the next winter storm to arrive in Utah on Wednesday and it could last through Thursday morning. The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement, noting that Wednesday's storm "could cause significant travel impacts across much of Utah. If your travel plans are flexible, consider traveling Tuesday ahead of the storm."
Strong, gusty winds will develop on Tuesday, especially in southwest Utah, according to the National Weather Service. Winter weather will "bring travel impacts across much of the region, including the I-15 corridor and I-80 east into Wyoming" on Wednesday and Thursday.

New Essays Address Topics on Women, Priesthood, Mother in Heaven

font: Mormon Newsroom

Essays complete series of 13 begun in 2013

SALT LAKE CITY —
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints published two new Gospel Topics essays on LDS.org.  One essay outlines the teachings of Church founder and prophet Joseph Smith on women, temple and the priesthood. The second explains Church teachings regarding a Mother in Heaven, which it describes as "a cherished and distinctive belief among Latter-day Saints."
These essays complete a series of 13 that the Church began publishing in 2013 to provide an accurate resource for its members to gain insight and understanding into some of its teachings, practices and history. The 13 essays published to date were prepared through extensive research by men and women Church scholars and carefully reviewed by members of the First Presidency, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and other General Authorities and women leaders to provide an official, authoritative and transparent source of information.
Church leaders decided to publish the essays, recognizing that today some of the information about its history and practice is obtained from questionable and often inaccurate sources, especially on the Internet.
The introduction to the Gospel Topic Essays page explains, "The purpose of these essays has been to gather accurate information from many different sources and publications and place it in the Gospel Topics section of LDS.org, where the material can more easily be accessed and studied by Church members and other interested parties."
The Church hopes that the material will be referenced in various lessons and classes, cited in talks and utilized in home study along with the large volume of resource materials now available to Church members worldwide.
The full series of essays is listed below. While there are no immediate plans to publish additional essays of this type, it remains an option for the future.
